Oil Painting Tools

I was lucky in that I started my painting journey with using Rosemary and Co brushes not really understanding at that moment that I would never go elsewhere. They are beautiful, solid construction, and amazing customer service. They’ve held up far better than any other brand I’ve used. I also have some favorites within their ranges. See Below.

Brushes

Four ceramic knives with white handles and blades arranged from smallest to largest on a gray background.

Why I love them. These brushes make amazing tight marks. They retain their shape and don’t splay. They have amazing snap. I use them primarily for highlights as they have a stiffer bristle to apply light catching bits of paint.

A set of six makeup brushes arranged in size order from smallest to largest on a beige background.

These are wonderful for adding in shadows. They spread paint thinly and precisely. The ultra thin versions also get a nice sharp line and don’t splay widely when loaded with paint.

Three flat paintbrushes with black handles, different sizes, and natural bristles, laying on a gray surface.

Hands down most amazing blender brush! For those that work small and think even the 1 inch brush is too large, you’ll thank me if you try it.

Three paintbrushes with different sizes of bristles arranged vertically on a green background.

The ultimate texture brush from everything from rocks, foliage and trees.

My favorite smoosher! Has a real densely compacted bristles that get a lovely blend.
