5 Days /900 Painters
Last week, I had the privilege of attending the Plein Air Convention & Expo (PACE) in stunning Lake Tahoe—a transformative experience as an artist. Being surrounded by over 900 like-minded painters was absolutely inspiring. The event offered a unique opportunity to connect with accomplished artists, exchange wisdom, and glean insights into a vast array of painting styles and techniques.
One standout lesson for me was the reductive painting technique. The ability to pull paint off the canvas using tools like a squeegee or a rubber-tipped instrument to create striking highlights elevated my craft to another level. This method was especially impactful during my plein air sessions, helping me capture the sparkling brilliance of Lake Tahoe’s pristine waters—a memory that shines vividly in my work.
I also treasured the camaraderie among these passionate creatives. Every interaction fueled my motivation and deepened my understanding of artistic expression. PACE has not only left me with unforgettable experiences but also reinvigorated my artistry, allowing me to see beauty through new perspectives.
This journey in Lake Tahoe allowed me to celebrate why I create—to immerse myself in the joy, depth, and boundless potential art brings to the world.
